Imaginations are turned ON in this center! The sensory bin provides open-ended play through sensory exploration. Children organize and engage in pretend play, language expression, and sharing. The materials/toys used in the sensory bin are changed weekly to provide the children with additional hands-on activities. They truly explore the theme we are learning about with their hands!
The Choice Chart gives children a daily opportunity to make a choice between the two pictures provided. This classroom feature is also set up to teach various skills, such as decision making, counting, more and less.
How to implement the Choice Chart:
At drop off, each child grabs their name and practices writing it on a small white board. After they have written their name, they go over to the Choice Chart and put their name under whatever picture they prefer that day.
The pictures typically start with the letter of the week OR coordinate with the theme we are talking about.
